Apple is planning a significant reorganization where Vision Pro creator Mike Rockwell will take over Siri development from AI head John Giannandrea after key features were delayed until 2026.
The executive shuffle comes after leadership discussions at a recent summit, with Giannandrea being repositioned to focus on AI research while maintaining a presence at the company for optics reasons.
Vision Products Group will transition to Paul Meade's leadership, while all Siri development will remain under the ultimate supervision of Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of software engineering.

The newly renamed AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP) expands as Nvidia and Elon Musk's xAI join the original consortium formed by BlackRock, Microsoft, Global Infrastructure Partners, and MGX.
Energy partners GE Vernova and NextEra Energy have also joined the collaboration to develop diverse energy solutions specifically for AI data centers.
BlackRock CEO Larry Fink noted the partnership brings together "technology expertise with private capital" to meet growing AI infrastructure demands, though the group hasn't disclosed how much of its $30 billion target has been raised since the September 2024 announcement.
